Kindergarten 5S and Standards

Time to get schooled! Great example of 5S and visual controls in a kindergarten classroom featured on unclutterer.com. You know that making things visible works when the little guys that can't read yet are able to clean up their mess.

We often think that adding a picture of what we are trying to store is overkill. Wouldn't a nice label with a part number and description be enough? Maybe. . . but in our pursuit of excellence perhaps we need to think more basically. A picture's worth a thousand words.

Every week Unclutterer features their workspace of the week and many times I have seen great examples of clean, organized workspaces. I love to use pictures like these in my 5S kaizen events. If kids can do it, why can't we?
